Once upon a time, in middle of France, a young woodcarver was running through the
Forest near his village. He lost his way, blinded by the snow and darkness of the night. He
Stopped to ask directions from a gardener. The young man told the gardener that he was
Running to look at the cross at the top of the hill, because he just had to see it again.

The woodcarver left his village and moved to Paris, immersing himself in the artistic culture,
Searching always for another cross like the one by his village. For the next decade, he carved
By day and work by night. He found himself drive by an insatiable passion for his craft.
Then one day, quite unexpectedly he was introduced to a gem: It was another forest, ancient
And untouched, on the other side of the world. All of his training coalesced in his vision of a
New beginning of his quest for perfection of craft and soul. The music he had studied in his
Small village sang in his ears, the beautiful vistas called out to his training in the visual arts
And last, but by no means least, the urge to carve his dreams into the vast old growth forests
Of British Columbia consumed his soul.

The inspiration of this new land, culture and language has pushed our carver beyond his
Previous limits. With 22 completed works to date, he has fused vitality with modernism.
Mastering the magic of his medium and escalating his craft to greater heights, he was
Launched into his new city and shown at different galleries. Since these auspicious beginnings,
His creativity has skyrocketed. The excitement and joy of each new
Discovery have infused his sculptures with a life and magic uniquely their own. The vital and
Thought-provoking pieces are eerily reminiscent of scientific models created by the
Renaissance masters. His chosen medium is a perfect match for the fresh and rich texture of
North America.

The artist has found his cross on the pinnacle of the mountain and the ecstasy of that
Knowledge has seeped into these sculptures.

Our woodcarver is Antony Rolland. Passionate. Brilliant. Exciting.  Come and explore
His destiny
